F.A.Q.

Please find below a list of frequently asked questions…!

How long will it take to get my order?

I aim to ship your order within 2 days. Very often it will ship the next day, but as every item is handmade by me, if I don’t have your item in stock, I have to make it from scratch. If you need the item for a specific date, please let me know in the comments, or contact me first to make sure it is possible…!

I’m a bit at the last minute, can you do same day shipping…?

Not at the moment. The earliest it will ship will be the next day.

I live in Killarney, can I meet you somewhere to get my order?

This is just not possible for me to do… going around meeting people for their order eats up on my precious studio time. Thank you for understanding!

What is your jewellery made of…?

All items are made of nickel and lead-free alloy, plated in sterling silver.

My ears are very sensitive, can I wear your earrings?

Although they are all lead and nickel-free, they are not hypo-allergenic and I wouldn’t recommend them for sensitive ears, but it is something I am looking into..!

I am purchasing something to be shipped to a friend for her birthday, can you include a note?

I’d be more then happy to and have done so several times! Just leave the note you would like in the comment section of the order, and if you forget, just send me an email as soon as possible after your order.

Will my purchase be gift-wrapped?

Every piece of jewellery  will come in a pretty gift box ready for gift-giving, wether it is a present or not! If you purchased a few items, I will put a little post-it note on each box telling you what it is so you can leave everything in their little ribboned gift boxes.

I completed these paintings in the space of a very few days… My new schedule for studio hours seems to work…!

I am preparing for te annual Wine & Art event given in the Malton Hotel in Killarney, which will be at the end of November…

Details to come!

Canadian Thanksgiving…

Canadian Thanksgiving...

“L’Action de Grâce” Like we call it at home… While our american neighbors and the majority of Canada held the tradition of turkey dinner, in my family it took a quite different twist…

As far as I can remember, in my family “L’Action de Grâce” was celebrated with… a picnic! During a hunting afternoon one day my dad discovered this little opening in the woods, next to a little sugar-shack, and he made a little fire for himself and thought it would be a nice spot for all the family to gather… Shortly after, Mum, Little me and my (then little) brothers were accompanying him for this autumnal picnic.

The night before, Dad would prepare a jar of home-made beans and some freshly baked bread, and the next morning, dressed in wellies and wooly jumpers,we would drive the 1/2h journey to our little sacred place, gather some branches for the fire and logs to sit on and heat up the beans in a pan over the fire. After that we would have some donuts with a warm cup of tea from the thermost.. mmmmh…

Of course we would make sure then that the fire was out and we would put the logs into place and ensure that our visit passed incognito, we would all go for a little forest walk then and look at mushrooms and other wanders…On the way back then we would stop at farm and get our pumpkins for Halloween and some lovely juicy apples.

This tradition is still being kept to this day and TODAY, the little clearing in the woods will be alive with the chats and laughter of Mum, Dad, my brothers Maxime and Louis and their respective wife and girlfriend, Sophie and Claire. Next year there will be one more as Maxime and Sophie are expecting a little boy…

I’m homesick…! But I am thankful to be living in such a beautiful and magical country that is Ireland.

What are you thankful for?

What’s in a name…

What's in a name...

Of course I am aware that my name isn’t the most easy to remember… Having a very french name has the advantage of sounding different and unusual, but at the same time can be a little… confusing! Although I have the movie “Amélie” to thank for, (one of my all times favorites.. not just for the title..!)since a lot of people would know about it and recognise the spelling..

To counter this problem I had the good idea to buy the domain name “emilygallery.com” as well as “ameliegallery”, which leads to the same website. Over my years living here and appearing once in a while in local papers and other media, I’ve had my name mispelled and twisted countless of times, and here are a few “variants”!:

real name:
Amélie Gagné
(pronouced like “family” without the “f” and “gang-ye”)

variants:

Ameile Ganga
Amelia
Amalie
Annalie
Emilia
Emmalie

And my favorite:

Emily Gaggle!

A new Gallery – A new Show!

A new Gallery - A new Show!

I am just back from a little trip to Dublin, we went to see “The Boss” last night…! Yep, Bruce Springsteen was singing away in the Fair City, with plenty of energy. Great show!

To kill two birds with one stone, I also brought with me some paintings for a lovely quaint gallery that I am trying out… Gallery Zozimus are only open a year and a half, but I must say they have a delightfull collection of beautiful artworks and some very quirky pieces of ceramic. Furhter more, THEY contacted me to exhibit there, which is always flattering. The pieces I brought are part of a group exhibition entitled “Inside the Box”, opening next Thursday July 16th. Unfortunately I cannot go back to Dublin to be at the opening, but will definitely try to attend the next show. Zozimus was a bard that lived in Dublin some time ago..

A Success Already…!

God I love red stickers…

My solo exhibition is now in Killarney, after spending a week in Valentia, and I can say proudly that 7 of them are already sold, and I also got a commission out of it. So far so good…!

Here is a link to the exhibition, I am in the process of putting it on my own website…

click here to see the paintings

This is a beautiful beautiful video that I first saw on the Artbizblog when Alyson shared it to my delight, it is just magnificent.

Well… Standing Tall was not accepted in the end…

Details of my solo exhibition are as follow:

Opening June 6th on Valentia Island, until the 12th of June, the exhibition will then travel to the Killarney Art Gallery, where it will be on show from the 13th to the 19th of June.

More details can be found on my website and on the gallery’s website. I hope to see you there…!

I forgot to mention that last Saturday when I was in Dublin for the Cirque du Soleil show, I also brought with me a little piece that I have for a while to the Royal Hibernian Academy. The Academy is hosting an “open submission” exhibition later in the year, so, fingers crossed, “Standing Tall” will be considered…!

An other Solo Exhibition…!

An other Solo Exhibition...!

Dates have finally been confirmed for my solo exhibition in the new gallery on Valentia Island, open by the Killarney Art Gallery…Saturday June 6th is the opening date, and I should have approximately 20 new paintings to show…

The new gallery will open officially on the 16th of May with a group exhibition which I am also part of, and is located right at the waterfront in Knightstown, overlooking the newly built marina, and I would certainly advise anyone who havent’t been on the island yet to make the trip, it is absolutely breath taking. So why not kill 2 birds with one stone in early June…
